Choices for consumers

Long-term care is an issue that affects thousands upon thousands of Michigan families. Many of us have a loved one or knows someone who requires assistance and support with daily living, whether it’s due to a disability or advanced age.

Yet an increasing number are choosing a less expensive option than nursing homes — they’re choosing to receive care in their own homes, where they’re more independent.

Here in Michigan, Medicaid recipients who receive home care services do so through the Home Help program.

We must allow home care to remain a viable choice for persons with disabilities and seniors so they can remain safe and independent in their own homes.

That’s why senior and disability rights advocates throughout Michigan urge you to support Proposal 4.
